Case History

This eighteen-month old baby girl was the first child of the family. Her parents were non-consanguineous. Her antenatal and neonatal history was uneventful. She presented at eighteen months old for gastroenteritis and was noted to have hepatosplenomegaly and bilateral palpable kidneys. Other systems were normal. Her blood pressure was 110/64. Investigations including complete blood picture, haemoglobin pattern, viral study, sepsis work up and metabolic screening were normal. Her serum urea was 6.6 mmol/L, creatinine 52 umol/L and liver function tests were normal.

Figure 1 was an ultrasound of left kidney and right kidney showed similar findings. Figures 2 and 3 were CT scan of the liver and kidneys respectively.
