Abstract Bardet-Biedl syndrome, a form of Laurence-Moon-Bardet-Biedl syndrome is a rare inheritable disease characterized by the pentad of obesity, mental retardation, pigmentary ret inopathy, polydactyly and hypogenitalism. Abnormalities in renal structures and functions are noticed to run a high frequency in this syndrome. Renal failure is recognized to be an important cause of death. We retrospectively reviewed the pattern of renal involvement in our patients and compared it with the past reports. Renal disease was a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in our patients.
